The event is a Touring Assembly for road cars. It is not classified as a motor sporting competition.
The event is organised in accordance with Motor Sports Association Guidelines, these Regulations and any additional instructions which may be issued. Any such additional instructions will be deemed to be an appendix to, and have the same power, as these Regulations.
The Tour will be approximately 1,500 miles. Route instructions will be simple and may contain an element of “tulip” navigation. Whilst the Route Book will be comprehensive, it is recommended that all participants use a current road atlas of Great Britain. However it is not compulsory to follow this route.
ELIGIBLE VEHICLES AND PARTICIPANTS
The Event is open to crews of two or more in any type of car manufactured prior to the 31st December 1986, although interesting vehicles of a later date may be accepted by the organisers.
All vehicles must meet the legal requirements to run on the public roads within Great Britain & the Republic of Ireland.
No advertising is permitted unless with prior consent of the organisers. Such permission will not be withheld if the advertising assists in the raising of funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Decisions on the eligibility of entries are at the absolute discretion of the organisers and are final.
All drivers must hold a valid driving licence.
The first nominated driver will represent participants in all matters unless specified.
ENTRIES
Entries open on publication of these Regulations and will close on 2 December 2011 or when forty entries have been received.
Entries will be accepted in order of receipt and the correct entry fee.
Participants will be provided with two numbered Touring plates, approximately 30cms x 15cms that must be clearly displayed in forward and rearward facing positions. No other numbers may be displayed except registration plates.
Participants will be required to sign a declaration to the effect that they have valid insurance in accordance with the requirement of the Road Traffic Act and the relevant National Laws applicable to Great Britain.
DOCUMENTATION AND START
Participants will receive a detailed Route Book & Control Card at the Pre Tour formalities on Saturday 21 April 2012.
At the start drivers and passengers will be required to complete and hand in their Control Card for official stamping.
Vehicle eligibility checks will be carried out at the start. Any vehicle which does not comply with section 3 of the Regulations or which in the opinion of the organisers, is deemed to be inappropriate for the event will be forbidden to start
The starting order will commence with ascending year of car manufacture and thereafter may be amended each day.
Vehicles will leave the start at intervals of not more than one minute. Exact starting times will be provided in advance.
Vehicles must be at their starting point at Balnakeil at least 15 minutes before their scheduled start time.
CHECK POINTS
The route will include Check Points which will be open for approximately two hours from time of passing of the first car.At some Check Points participants may have the opportunity to, in a touring manner, drive the route of a motor sport venue.
Secret Checks will be established en route.
FINISHERS
To qualify as a finisher a participant must:

Arrive at the finish at Cape Cornwall before the check point closes

Not incur a penalty of exclusion.
AWARDS
Specially commissioned Awards will be presented to the Driver and Co-Driver who raise the most money for Macmillan Cancer Support as a result of participating in the tour. In addition they will be awarded the Tricia Greenslade Perpetual Trophy for retention for eleven months. Proof may be required by the organisers.
“Spirit of the Rally” Trophy in memory of Sarah Jane Brazier.
Two awards to the crew of the oldest car to complete the route
Two awards to the all ladies crew to complete the route
All finishers will receive two commemorative Finishers Awards per car. These may differ depending upon adherence to Route.
There will be additional awards presented at the organiser’s discretion.
POSTPONEMENT OR CANCELLATION
The organisers reserve the right to cancel or postpone the event or any part thereof should the circumstances arise which cause such action to be desirable or necessary. In such conditions prior to the 2 December 2011 the return of the entry fees less administration fee of £180 will be returned. After this date it will be at the discretion of the organisers. In the event the participant cancels after the closing date the participant will forfeit the entire entry fee.PENALTIES

ENTRY FEE
The Entry Fee is £1585 for two people and car, up to 26 October 2011 and thereafter £1800 with late entries being accepted at the organiser’s discretion. The entry fee includes:-
